Which flooring is best for Melbourne's climate?
Natural timber moves with changes in temperature and humidity. Engineered timber and quality hybrid flooring generally offer greater dimensional stability when installed to the manufacturer’s requirements. Wet-area suitability depends on the product. Hybrid is generally not recommended for bathrooms or continuously wet areas. We’ll advise during the free measure.
How long does a flooring installation take?
A typical 3–4 bedroom home can usually be completed within 1–3 days, depending on the flooring type and subfloor preparation required. Carpet and vinyl tend to be faster than timber or hybrid, which may need levelling compound or expansion gap time. We’ll give you a realistic timeline in the written quote so you can plan around it.
Do you remove existing flooring before installing new?
Removal and disposal are quoted by flooring type. The quote may exclude asbestos-containing materials, contaminated materials or unforeseen substrates. We’ll explain what is included after the measure.
Is hybrid flooring suitable for homes with pets and children?
Hybrid flooring has a highly water-resistant core and a durable wear layer, which can suit busy homes with pets and children. It is generally not recommended for bathrooms or continuously wet areas, and performance depends on the product and installation.
